Zilara Compensation Plan Review: How the Six Income Streams Work

October 30, 2026 by Nate Bianco Leave a Comment

Why understanding the Zilara Compensation Plan isn't the key to success.

The Zilara compensation plan combines six ways to earn: retail rewards, a community matrix, binary team commissions, leadership matching, STAR bonuses, and one-time leadership bonuses. You can earn from personally referred customer orders without recruiting a team, while the other income streams have additional activity and qualification requirements.

But if you’re researching this plan because you want to build a team and create residual income, there’s another question that matters just as much as the percentages: where will your next customers and business builders come from?

I’ve marketed online since 2002. My experience has taught me that understanding a compensation plan is important, but knowing how to attract interested people is what gives you a chance to benefit from it.

In this Zilara compensation plan review, I’ll explain the income streams, qualifications, rank requirements, and details that can be easy to miss. Then we’ll look at the marketing foundation you need to put a plan like this to work.

Research checked October 30, 2026. This review summarizes Zilara’s published materials. Calculation examples explain the mechanics; they are not typical earnings or income forecasts.

How Does the Zilara Compensation Plan Work?

Zilara calls its compensation program the S.A.F.E. Plan, which stands for Straightforward, Attainable, Fair, and Enduring. Those are the company’s descriptions. Whether the plan fits your goals requires looking beyond the name.

The first thing to understand is the difference between product prices and Business Volume, or BV. Commissions are calculated using assigned BV, so a commission percentage isn’t necessarily that percentage of the customer’s checkout total.

Personal Volume, or PV, comes from your own qualifying purchases for personal use or resale. Zilara’s getting-started page also uses the term CV when describing activity levels. Check the volume assigned to the products you actually plan to buy rather than assuming one dollar always equals one volume point.

The basic qualification levels are:

  • No personal volume: Retail Rewards on personally referred customer orders.
  • 10 BV personal volume: Community matrix commissions through 15 levels.
  • 50 BV personal volume: Eligibility for binary team commissions as well as Community earnings.
  • 100 BV personal volume: Eligibility for STAR, matching, and leadership bonuses, subject to their additional requirements.

Qualification uses a rolling 31-day period. Your recent activity determines your current eligibility rather than a simple calendar-month reset. Reaching a volume threshold opens access; it doesn’t create customers, team volume, or a commission by itself.

Here’s where most people get stuck. They study what the plan could pay long before they have anyone to share it with. You can memorize every bonus and still have nobody to talk to next week. That’s the gap I’d close before getting excited about a rank chart.

So start with the part nobody in the compensation plan covers: how you’ll meet new people. If you want the tools, training, and live help to get that going, click the banner below and take a look.

Great Company, Great Product, Nobody to Tell?

1. Retail Rewards: Can You Earn Without Recruiting?

Yes. Zilara pays Retail Rewards of 30% of the Business Volume on orders placed by customers you personally refer. The published plan says this requires no personal purchase, monthly order, rank, or team building.

For a calculation example, a qualifying customer order assigned 100 BV produces a $30 retail commission. That doesn’t mean a $100 checkout necessarily produces $30, because BV and the amount paid can differ.

These commissions apply to customer orders. Orders placed by affiliates or distributors don’t generate Retail Rewards. Repeat customer orders can continue generating retail income under the plan’s rules.

That distinction matters. You don’t have to sponsor business builders to earn retail commissions. You do need customers who buy products, and continued retail income depends on continued purchases.

In my opinion, this is where any network marketing evaluation should begin: would people want the products even if there were no compensation plan attached? A repeat customer has a reason to stay beyond excitement about an opportunity.

2. Community Commissions: How Does the 2-by-15 Matrix Work?

The Community uses a 2-by-15 matrix. There are two positions on the first level, four on the second, eight on the third, and so on, through 15 levels.

With at least 10 BV of qualifying personal volume, the plan provides 5% per level on the first 10 BV allocated to Community from each order. That makes a fully allocated 10 BV contribution worth $0.50 to an eligible participant at a payable level.

This is not 5% of the entire order through 15 levels. The Community portion uses a limited amount of volume from each order. Larger orders don’t automatically multiply the matrix commission in proportion to their total BV.

The plan includes a full-matrix illustration with 65,534 positions. Filling a diagram is very different from developing and retaining an organization of real customers and participants. It should never be treated as an expected result.

Should You Rely on Spillover?

I’ve built businesses using matrix, binary, and unilevel plans. In my experience with matrix marketing, the excitement often centers on getting positioned and hoping other people fill the structure below you.

My advice is to build around what you control. You cannot control how many people your upline enrolls, where they place them, or whether those people keep ordering.

Spillover can happen. It isn’t a dependable lead generation strategy. If waiting for someone else’s work is your whole business plan, you’re leaving your income in someone else’s hands.

3. Team Commissions: How Does the Binary Pay?

Zilara’s Team structure has a left side and a right side. A cycle occurs when there is 100 BV of allocated Team volume on each side. The plan describes the payout as 10% of the weaker leg per cycle, equivalent to 10 on a 100/100 cycle.

The personal activity threshold is 50 BV. The rank chart also lists Executive as requiring two personally enrolled participants, one on each leg. Confirm the complete eligibility requirements for your account before assuming personal volume alone makes you payable.

For a simple illustration, 300 BV of available Team volume on one side and 100 BV on the other supports one 100/100 cycle. The extra volume on the stronger side doesn’t produce more cycles until there is sufficient volume on the other side.

Zilara says unused volume carries over while your account remains active. That condition matters: the published carryover promise isn’t a promise that volume survives every form of inactivity.

Customer Orders and Consultant Orders Contribute Different Volume

This is one of the most important details in the plan. A 100 BV customer order and a 100 BV consultant order do not contribute the same amount to the binary.

  • 100 BV customer order: Retail Rewards use the full 100 BV. Only 50 BV carries forward into the structures, with 10 BV allocated to Community and 40 BV to Team.
  • 100 BV consultant order: No Retail Rewards are paid. Of the 100 BV, 10 goes to Community and 90 to Team.
  • STAR: Either qualifying 100 BV order can generate one STAR Credit under the published rules.

When calculating binary volume, use the amount actually allocated to Team. Adding up product BV without accounting for these allocations can overstate how many cycles an organization will generate.

4. Leadership Match: What Percentages Does Zilara Pay?

Leadership Match pays on eligible Community and Team commissions earned within your enrollment organization. It isn’t an extra percentage of every product order.

Eligibility requires 100 BV personal volume and the appropriate rank. The published schedule is:

  • Gold: 10% on the first generation.
  • Platinum: 15% on the first generation, then 5% on the second.
  • Pearl: 20% on the first generation, then 5% on generations two and three.
  • Sapphire: 25% on the first generation, then 5% through generation four.
  • Ruby: 30% on the first generation, then 5% through generation five.
  • Emerald: 35% on the first generation, then 5% through generation six.
  • Diamond: 40% on the first generation, then 5% through generation seven.
  • Double Diamond: 45% on the first generation, then 5% through generation eight.
  • Triple Diamond: 50% on the first generation, then 5% through generation nine.

Zilara describes these generations by enrollment relationships. They should not be confused with positions in the Community matrix or placement in the binary.

The practical limitation is straightforward: a match needs eligible earnings to match. Enrolling someone who never develops commissionable activity doesn’t produce the same result as helping someone build an active customer base and organization.

5. STAR Bonuses: How Do the Grids Work?

STAR eligibility requires 100 BV personal volume. A qualifying customer or affiliate order of at least 100 BV generates one STAR Credit. A larger order doesn’t automatically generate multiple credits; the document specifies one credit per qualifying order.

The structure follows your enrollment organization:

  • Level one: two first-generation positions; $50 payout when filled.
  • Level two: four second-generation positions; $75 payout when filled.
  • Level three: eight third-generation positions; $100 payout when filled.
  • Level four: 16 fourth-generation positions; $150 payout, requiring Gold or above.
  • Level five: 32 fifth-generation positions; $200 payout, requiring Platinum or above.

Each level must fill before earnings are generated on the next. Multiple grids can operate, with additional qualifying credits filling further grids under the plan’s rules.

STAR grids reset monthly. Credits and unfinished grid progress apply to the current month. Don’t confuse that monthly reset with the rolling 31-day personal activity requirement.

The structure therefore depends on ongoing qualifying order activity in the required generations. It isn’t a one-time enrollment achievement that guarantees the same payment every month.

Zilara also prohibits purchases made primarily to fill grids or trigger bonuses. Orders must reflect genuine product use or reasonable resale activity.

6. Leadership Bonuses and Rank Requirements

Leadership bonuses are one-time rank awards. All leadership ranks listed below require 100 BV personal volume, plus the stated Team Cycles:

  • Bronze: five cycles; $100 bonus.
  • Silver: 10 cycles; $250 bonus.
  • Gold: 20 cycles; $500 bonus.
  • Platinum: 30 cycles; $1,000 bonus.
  • Pearl: 60 cycles; $2,000 bonus.
  • Sapphire: 120 cycles; $4,000 bonus.
  • Ruby: 240 cycles; $7,500 bonus.
  • Emerald: 500 cycles; $15,000 bonus.
  • Diamond: 1,000 cycles; $25,000 bonus.
  • Double Diamond: 2,000 cycles; $50,000 bonus.
  • Triple Diamond: 5,000 cycles; $100,000 bonus.

Entry classifications are Customer at 10 BV, Influencer at 10 BV plus one personally enrolled participant, and Executive at 50 BV plus two personally enrolled participants, one per leg.

Rank is evaluated using the rolling 31-day activity period. The leadership bonus is split: half after verified achievement, and half after maintaining the rank for three consecutive months starting with the month first achieved.

These are not monthly salary amounts. Rank bonuses are paid once per rank, subject to verification and maintenance requirements.

What Costs and Fine Print Should You Check?

Zilara’s site offers free account creation, and Retail Rewards have no personal volume requirement. Accessing the other income streams involves qualifying personal activity.

The detailed plan lists a $9.95 subscription assigned 10 BV as one Community activation option, alongside qualifying product purchases. For the 50 BV and 100 BV levels, calculate the actual cost of the products you want, including shipping and applicable tax. A volume requirement isn’t a fixed dollar price.

The getting-started guide promotes Auto Delivery as a way to maintain activity. Don’t confuse that recommendation with the separate rule allowing retail earnings without monthly purchases.

Other conditions worth understanding include:

  • Unqualified participants remain in the structure, but applicable earnings can pass to the next qualified participant under the compression rules.
  • Returns and refunds can remove volume, reverse commissions, and affect STAR Credits.
  • The company reserves the ability to interpret rules and modify the plan.
  • Real-time commission calculation doesn’t establish how quickly money reaches your bank. Confirm withdrawal procedures and any fees separately.

I did not locate a public statistical income disclosure in the official materials reviewed. The compensation document does warn that some participants earn nothing or little, and expenses can exceed commissions. Ask for the latest income disclosure before making an earnings-based decision.

My Review: The Pay Plan Doesn’t Generate Your Leads

There are useful features to understand here, especially retail eligibility without personal purchases, repeat-customer earning potential, and binary carryover while active. There are also moving parts: different volume allocations, two-sided balance, rank qualifications, and monthly STAR resets.

But here’s the bigger issue in my opinion: none of those mechanics brings a new prospect to your business.

You can earn retail commissions without recruiting. If your goal is to build a growing team, though, you need a dependable way to reach new potential customers and business builders. Staying qualified and waiting doesn’t create that flow.

When I started online, my sponsor kept bringing me back to generating leads and enrolling people. Whenever I spent too much time analyzing the opportunity, his message was essentially to get back to finding prospects.

That lesson stuck with me. You can study another bonus chart, but sooner or later somebody has to get interested, ask questions, try the products, or decide to build.

Maybe you like Zilara and simply don’t know where to find interested people beyond your current contacts. That doesn’t mean you picked the wrong company. It means you’re missing the marketing piece, and you can fix that without switching to anything.

What Do You Need to Build a Team Consistently?

A Lead Generation Strategy You Can Keep Using

Friends and family can be a starting point, but I wouldn’t build my entire plan around them. They aren’t automatically looking for the products or business you’re offering.

I prefer learning a method that reaches people already interested in the topic. Search-based blog articles and YouTube videos are examples of assets that can keep being discovered after you create them, although traffic and leads are never guaranteed.

The best fit also depends on you. A woman on one of my teams struggled with the email-based strategy I was using, then learned organic Facebook marketing and eventually recruited more people than I did. My experience taught me why access to more than one approach matters.

Tools to Capture Leads and Follow Up

A company website gives people somewhere to order. You still need a way to stay connected with interested people who aren’t ready today.

For me, that means a capture page and an email list I control. I want permission to follow up, answer questions, and build a relationship over time.

AI tools can help with ideas and drafts, but they don’t replace understanding your audience or checking your claims. The purpose is to make useful marketing work easier to carry out consistently.

Training Plus Live Help When You Get Stuck

A recorded course can show you what to do. It can’t always tell you why your particular page isn’t converting or why your content is attracting people who aren’t interested.

That’s why I recommend access to experienced marketers who can answer questions and review what you’re doing. Live help is especially useful when you’re trying to connect the tools, traffic, and follow-up into one process.

Zilara’s getting-started materials point people toward their consultant, company support, and its knowledge base. Ask your prospective sponsor what practical marketing help is available, how often you can get feedback, and whether it covers reaching people outside your existing contacts.

Don’t assume a product presentation and a compensation-plan webinar are the same thing as learning lead generation.

Final Thoughts on the Zilara Compensation Plan

Zilara provides multiple ways to earn, but the income streams depend on different kinds of qualifying product activity. Retail selling, binary balance, leadership development, and STAR grids each deserve their own calculation.

My advice is to understand those rules, decide whether the products offer value, and work out your expenses. Then put serious attention into the part you can develop: attracting prospects, following up, and helping interested people get started.

In my experience, not everyone who joins will become an active builder. You can’t make that decision for them. What you can do is keep improving your marketing and give people useful support.

A compensation plan explains how the company distributes commissions. Your marketing strategy determines how you bring potential customers and team members into the picture.

If you’ve figured out how Zilara pays but still don’t know where your next prospects will come from, that’s a big problem.

If you want to build a successful, thriving business with Zilara, your next step is to get plugged into a marketing platform that hands you the tools, training, and live help to generate a steady flow of leads and start enrolling new customers and reps more consistently.
